Accounting Clerk

 

Cornerstone Properties Ltd., a local property management company, is seeking to fill a permanent full-time position in its Accounting Department.   This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who thrives in a busy office environment.    The role is perfect for a detailed oriented person who displays a high level of accuracy.

 

The key accounting duties are as follows:

-        Prepare and post deposits including cash/debit/cheques

-        Maintain pre-authorized withdrawal database

-        Prepare reconciliations of outstanding balances/credits on tenant and owner accounts.

-        Process security deposit refunds

-        Prepare monthly rent increases

-        Bank reconciliations

-        Prepare Financial Statements

-        Process accounts payable

-        Print supplier cheques and post online utility payments

-        Reconcile vendor statements

-        Filing

-        Other duties as necessary to assist with Accounting Department

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year working in an accounting environment.  They will enjoy working in a team environment and take pride in their work.  They must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, be honest, flexible and hard-working.

The following skills would be an asset for the position but are not required:

  • Carpentry, plumbing, electrical skills.
  • Drywall repair, texturing, painting at a high quality level.
  • Water leak detection, restoration and repair.
  • Irrigation start ups and repairs.
  • Bathroom renovations and tile work.
  • Work inside and outside in all elements.
  • HVAC service work.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to follow instructions; both written and oral.
  • Present the company in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a high level of personal grooming and appearance.
  • Good organizational, time management and documentation skills.
  • Be able to lift equipment and supplies of 50lbs or more up stairs and throughout buildings if needed.

 The successful candidate must:

  • Have experience.
  • Use a smartphone.
  • Have a reliable and secure van or pick-up truck.
  • Provide basic hand tools.
  • Wear a company uniform.
  • Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Be on occasional on-call rotation for after hours emergency service.

Strata Property Manager

 

After 30 plus years Cornerstone Properties Ltd., a local property management company, is continuing to grow and is looking for a motivated licenced Strata Property Manager to join our team.  This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who excels in a busy office environment.  At Cornerstone Properties we emphasize a team approach and we provide a friendly and supportive work environment.

 

Description:

 

  •  Assist Strata Councils in the daily, monthly, and annual maintenance and administrative operations of strata buildings.
    • Schedule, prepare, attend and record minutes for Strata Council meetings.
    • Able to read and comprehend financial statements.
  •  Advise Strata Councils and owners on issues and resolutions as per the Strata Property Act.
  •  Respond to queries from strata lot owners.
  •  Clear understanding of the Strata Property Act and the Real Estate Services Act.
  •  Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and provide excellent service in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  •  Ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities.
  •  Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  •  Excellent customer service and communication skills.

 

Requirements:

 

 Must hold a current Strata Property Manager license for British Columbia.

  • A valid BC driver’s license and motor vehicle.
  • Competent with technology – including strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, NetIntegrity).
  • Excellent attitude, work ethic and sense of humour.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

 

  • Salary Range - $40,000.00 to $55,000.00 annually depending on experience.
  • 3 weeks paid vacation plus flex days.
  • Benefit package after 3 months and RRSP match program after one year.
  • Vehicle and cell phone allowance.
