The following skills would be an asset for the position but are not required:

  • Carpentry, plumbing, electrical skills.
  • Drywall repair, texturing, painting at a high quality level.
  • Water leak detection, restoration and repair.
  • Irrigation start ups and repairs.
  • Bathroom renovations and tile work.
  • Work inside and outside in all elements.
  • HVAC service work.

The ideal candidate would demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent attitude and work ethic.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to follow instructions; both written and oral.
  • Present the company in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a high level of personal grooming and appearance.
  • Good organizational, time management and documentation skills.
  • Be able to lift equipment and supplies of 50lbs or more up stairs and throughout buildings if needed.

 The successful candidate must:

  • Have experience.
  • Use a smartphone.
  • Have a reliable and secure van or pick-up truck.
  • Provide basic hand tools.
  • Wear a company uniform.
  • Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Be on occasional on-call rotation for after hours emergency service.
  • Provide a current criminal record check (you will be reimbursed for this cost).

 

 

RESIDENTIAL CARETAKER WANTED

Caretaker and/or caretaker couple required for side by side rental buildings in Victoria totalling 142 units.  A vehicle is a must.  Responsibilities include collection of rents, showing vacant units, checking references, janitorial duties for the interior of the building and monitoring/maintaining the exterior of the building/grounds, minor maintenance, and administrative duties for both buildings. Accounting Clerk

 

Cornerstone Properties Ltd., a local property management company, is seeking to fill a permanent full-time position in its Accounting Department.   This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who thrives in a busy office environment.    The role is perfect for a detailed oriented person who displays a high level of accuracy.

The key accounting duties are as follows:

-        Prepare and post deposits including cash/debit/cheques

-        Maintain pre-authorized withdrawal database

-        Prepare reconciliations of outstanding balances/credits on tenant and owner accounts.

-        Process security deposit refunds

-        Prepare monthly rent increases

-        Bank reconciliations

-        Prepare Financial Statements

-        Process accounts payable

-        Print supplier cheques and post online utility payments

-        Reconcile vendor statements

-        Filing

-        Other duties as necessary to assist with Accounting Department

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year working in an accounting environment.  They will enjoy working in a team environment and take pride in their work.  They must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, be honest, flexible and hard-working.
